USE NEWS TO HIGHLIGHT YOUR LAW FIRM

Lawyers Marketing Agency has partnered with vitalink® to produce a video-based tool designed specifically for law firms called Spotlight on the Law. The program is a 30-minute structured television show in a news format designed to allow law firms to educate consumers. The show uses professional newscasters to interview the attorneys on a specific subject or series of subjects.

Why Spotlight on the Law? When your firm’s attorneys are interviewed on a news show that runs on local affiliates, cable networks, YouTube or your website, it showcases their experience and positions them as experts in their fields. Spotlight on the Law is not a “long commercial” but is a consumer advocate news program intended to educate potential clients and position your law firm as the “go to” firm in the practice area(s) featured. To learn more about Spotlight on the Law, contact Lauren Black at alb@lawyersmarketingagency.com.

“I DON’T HAVE TIME TO WRITE A BOOK…”

Have you ever considered writing a non-fiction book to use in your efforts marketing your business but thought you just didn’t have time? Consider using a ghostwriter to help you reach your goal.

Why write a book? Becoming an author gives you immediate credibility—you’ve written a book so you must be an expert! You can then sell your book or give it away to promote your organization. People are hesitant to throw books away, so even if they don’t keep it, they will likely pass it along to a friend or relative to read.

Here are a few tips to follow should you decide to write a book:
• The book must provide value – not sell.
• Determine your intended audience ahead of time and write to their level.
• Be true to your brand.
• Add a professional looking cover; consider including your photo and bio information on the back.
• Add an ISBN and bar code even if you don’t plan to sell the book; it adds credibility and if you change your mind about selling the book, it will be there.

Your book can actually do “double-duty” – use excerpts to populate your newsletter or blog! So get out your pen (do people actually write using pen and paper anymore?) and get started!

”WE’RE OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD!” – WHAT I DO IN MY FREE TIME – PRO BONO WORK

As many of you know, I am very happily engaged to be married. What you may not know is that my fiancé Michael is the CEO of a landscape design, build and maintenance company called Greenscape, Inc. He is also sits on the NC Irrigation Licensing Board and is very active in the Green Industry Council of NC. So, today we’re heading, along with the Board members of the Green Industry Council, to Washington, D.C. to lobby our Congressmen (and women) on behalf of the green industry. We hope to encourage them to vote for new legislation that will benefit the landscape, irrigation, turf grass, nursery and horticulture industries. The “green industry” isn’t about being just a bunch of folks who mow grass or plant trees; it is about water conservation, sustainable practices, and preservation of our resources. We encourage you to look for ways to make your firm “greener” in the future!
