“Fall Back”–Taking Time to Look at Your Processes & Procedures
As we really head into fall and all of the activities that come with returning to school, football season, community and church activities and the overall hectic schedules of life, it is important to “fall back” and take a look at the heart and soul of our firms. When it comes down to it—it’s your staff and the client experience they deliver that really makes our firms run smoothly. Making sure that they have the tools to run their case loads efficiently and effectively is at the heart of your client experience. As I have mentioned on more than one occasion, the key to the optimal client experience is the “back of the house” running like a well-oiled machine, so that the front of the house can offer your clients the WOW experience.
Keep your determination alive and well as you strive
Why do we lose the drive to succeed? Without a strong desire to overcome obstacles and reach the top, you won’t get very far. But once that spark is gone, getting it back is difficult. Before you start wondering whether your efforts and dreams are worthwhile, guard against these primary reasons why most people lose their will to succeed:
• Loss of confidence. If you don’t believe in yourself, you won’t get very far when obstacles arise. Before starting out on a goal, be sure you’ve got the skills and willpower to persevere.
• Unclear focus. You can easily lose sight of your goals if you’re not clear on what you want to achieve. Narrow your sights so you’ve got a single, specific objective in mind—one that’s important enough for you to pursue with determination.
• Lack of direction. Every journey is a series of steps. If you don’t know what steps to take, you’ll get lost quickly. Look at your destination and decide what you need to do to reach it. Create a plan that lays out each move forward so you can track your progress and keep heading on.
“You’ve got to get up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.”
— George Horace Lorimer
